National Family Benefit Scheme
 

This programme came into effect from 15th August, 1995.

 

Objective:

 

To assist households living below the poverty line in case they lose the Primary bread earner.

Eligibility:

Death of Primary bread earner of the family, aged above 18yrs but below   65 yrs selected under IRDP list of 1997 whose earnings contribute substantially to the household income.

 

Subsity:

 

        Before 1.8.1998

 

                    Natural death      –       Rs. 5,000/-

                    Accidental death –       Rs. 10,000/-

 

        After – 1.8.1998

 

       Rs. 10,000/-  in case of any type of death.

With the launch of Panna Dhaya Jeevan Amrit Yojna on 14th August, 2006 in order to provide benefit of insurance to each BPL Family, the National Family Benefit Scheme has been closed.
